TRIAL BY WIRE — PRIVACY

Last updated 1 September 2026

This is a game you play in a browser. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, and nothing is ever sold or shared with anyone. What follows is the whole of what it stores and sends.

KEPT IN YOUR OWN BROWSER

Your progress lives in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device. That is: which levels you have solved, your smallest build on each, which pieces you have been introduced to, whether you have seen the opening tour, and a short random id (eight characters, generated on your machine) that distinguishes one player from another in the counts below. It is not linked to your name, your email, or your address, and it exists only in the browser that made it. Clearing your site data erases all of it, including your progress.

SENT TO US

Play counts. When you load a level, solve one, ask for a hint, or run your machine, the game sends a short event: the random id above, which level, which room, and which build of the game you are running. That is all. We use it to see where players get stuck so we can fix the levels.

Notes you choose to send. If you use the ✉ button, we receive what you wrote, the level you were on, and a snapshot of the machine you had built. There is no name field and we never ask who you are. Nothing is sent unless you press send. Please don't put your name, email, or any other personal detail in a note — we don't need it, and we'd rather not have it. If one arrives anyway, we delete it as soon as we read it.

Ordinary web traffic. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which keeps standard server logs and provides a privacy-preserving analytics count of page views. That analytics does not use cookies and does not follow you to other sites. Cloudflare's own handling of this data is described in their privacy policy.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

Play counts are kept while the game is in development and deleted when they stop being useful. Notes are read, acted on, and deleted — if a note contains personal information we did not ask for, we delete it as soon as we see it. Server logs age out on Cloudflare's ordinary schedule.

CHILDREN

The game is suitable for children and we expect some of our players to be under 13. We deliberately do not collect names, email addresses, ages, locations, or any other information that identifies a child. The random id is used only to keep our internal counts straight — it supports the game's own operation and nothing else. We never use it to build a profile, to advertise, or to contact anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through a note, write to us and we will delete it.

ASKING US TO DELETE SOMETHING

Write to rebeccanesson@gmail.com and we will delete what we have. Because nothing is tied to a name, it helps to include roughly when you played and what the note said.
